This position is for an ON SITE coder.
The HIM Coder is accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of diseases. This position requires skill in the sequencing of diagnoses/procedures to optimize reimbursement. Also, the HIM Coder ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner and be able to run coding reports from EHR and maintain in a timely manner.
Education
· High School graduate or equivalent
· Two or more years of previous hospital experience as a Coder preferred
· CCS Certification preferred
· CPC Certification preferred
